AC/DC FAN MEETING IN CELLE: POSTER 2023

Anyone who is active on Facebook may have already seen a few small "previews" in the first few days of February - now the time has come:

We present you our poster motif for Celle 2023! The cartoon will accompany us until September and can be found on tickets, shirts, merch, etc.

In case anyone is wondering what the motif is all about: just look at what the Celle coat of arms looks like - and you've probably noticed a similar dog on one of the very early AC/DC albums: He "marks" that AC/DC will celebrate their 50th band anniversary at the end of this year.

At this point, the organizing team would like to say a big thank you to Horst Stahl, who made the drawings for us on which the motif is based.

Discounted Earlybird-Tickets available until 2023-02-28: Tickets

ACinDC means NETHERLANDSinCELLE

In search of international AC/DC tribute bands, the organizing team for 2023 found what they were looking for for the first time in the neighboring Netherlands:

ACinDC has been formed from the rhythm section of the former band Action in DC, which is certainly a household name to some hardcore fans.
Those who were at the International Fan Meeting in 2017 can certainly remember Jon Blandvord, the singer of AC/DC UK at that time, who already looks quite similar to Bon Scott and whose voice is also very close to the original: You will meet him again at the mic in ACinDC.

Drummer Lambert van den Munckhof, bassist Nick McGrath and rhythm guitarist Laurent Schijns will show the fans how an AC/DC tribute band should sound. A "young Angus Young", whose real name is Erwin Wuite, will race across the stage like a madman shaking his head in the Celle CD barracks.

With a lot of experience on international stages under their belt - such as Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, England and Australia... and festivals from Zwarte Cross, Bospop to Graspop - ACinDC will take you on a unique sound journey through the AC/DC repertoire on Fan Meeting Friday, which will be quite something!

CELLE'23 - START TICKET PRESALE

We have never been this early before:

The early bird phase for purchasing tickets for the International AC/DC Fan Meeting on September 29 and 30, 2023 at the CD Kaserne in Celle (Germany) will already start on 12/12/2022, so you can still get your hands on tickets this year!

In the Earlybird phase, there will only be weekend tickets for sale at a price of 37.00 Euro plus 1.00 Euro shipping and handling. These are also only available exclusively via the Fan Meeting website - direct link to the order form: tickets

Important:
The Earlybird phase will last up to and including February 28, 2023, after which there will be no more tickets available via the Fantreffen website, but print-at-home tickets via an online store at Reservix (probably from February 2023). Weekend tickets will then cost 41.00 Euros plus shipping. We will also offer day tickets there.

The hard tickets have not been printed yet. You will therefore receive an email with a "Specimen ticket" to print out yourself after your order has been confirmed and payment has been received, so that you can put something under the Christmas tree. As soon as the tickets are produced, they will be sent to you by mail - whether this can be done before Christmas remains questionable. You can then put the "Specimen ticket" in your AC/DC collector's folder as a souvenir.

Earlybird pre-orders also have the option of submitting a special song request from the AC/DC repertoire via the order form: the title most often mentioned will be played live at the fan meeting.

WHAT ABOUT T-SHIRTS?
In the past years we were able to offer the possibility to pre-order Fan Meeting t-shirts in combination with the tickets. This feature ist not available  this time, but we are working on a solution so that you can pre-order shirts early. More information will follow via our news channels as soon as this has been clarified.

We hope that this has helped you to look forward to Christmas and the upcoming International AC/DC Fan Festival.

LET THERE BE ROCK!

LIVE WIRE FROM USA - TO CELLE'23

Do you still remember? In 2019, for the very first time, we had a band from the USA to hit the stage at the International AC/DC Fan Meeting (THUNDHERSTRUCK from California).

This time , we once more looked across the big pond in the cause of our"band casting
2023". We  discovered LIVE WIRE from the USA: The combo with lead singer Francis Crouse, who visually could undoubtedly be a close
relative of Brian Johnson, promises an authentic AC/DC experience both in sound and show.

LIVE WIRE was founded in 2000 in the New York metropolitan area and is dedicated to an authentic reproduction of AC/DC's stage
performance. Since then, they have performed on five continents and numerous countries by now - in addition to the USA, they have
also performed in Canada, Egypt, Spain, Turkey, Finland, Venezuela, Peru, Honduras and many other regions. It's about time to finally
see them in Celle, Germany!

Regulars of previous AC/DC fan meetings will certainly remember experiencing lead singer Francis Crouse on stage in 2018 with his
powerful voice - and the 2019 fan meeting annual motif famously adorned his likeness from that performance.
Rhythm guitarist Bill Voccia, bass guitarist Joe Whalen and drummer Billy Rauff combine as a driving force from the background to
provide a wall of sound of pure rock 'n' roll power.

Last but not least, Mike Hughes on lead guitar completes the AC/DC sound experience - a rawessence, power and electricity of what an
AC/DC show is all about: high voltage rock'n'roll at its finest.

HOLE FULL OF LOVE IN CELLE '23

It's already been more than four years since HOLE FULL OF LOVE shook the foundations of the Music Hall at the International AC/DC Fan Meeting 2018 with a thunderstorm of sound from the Bon Scott era.

We thought "all good things come in threes" and thus invited them again to play at the premiere of our fan meeting at the new location in Celle.

"A Tribute to 70's AC/DC" describes exactly what the band is all about: with their ultra-straight stage show, consistently committed to the rock'n'roll beginnings of the early AC/DC years, the band around frontman Dario always creates bewilderment. Mostly to be found in the Rhine-Main area next to Frankfurt, HOLE FULL OF LOVE are also on tour nationwide - among others, they have already played as support for Foreigner and Rose Tattoo. For the International AC/DC Fan Meeting the stage is definitely ready for "HOLE FULL OF LOVE" once more!

HOLE FULL OF LOVE will be the first band to play on Fantreffen Saturday with a hammer song selection from the Bon Scott era! "Safety note": Please leave some stamina for the second Saturday band, because they also promise the full board of concentrated AC/DC power :-)

BEDLAM IN CELLE '23

We are undoubtedly living in crazy times that are affecting all areas of life.

So crazy that - since the beginning of the pandemic - the International AC/DC Fan Meeting has had to be canceled three times.

It's about time that we will finally change that and - apart from the topics that are currently driving our lives - are going to celebrate a loud AC/DC weekend with fans from all over the world. So we can proudly announce: The countdown to the restart of the International AC/DC Fan Meeting has begun. Time and place have changed - the rest remains as we have been used to for the last few years:

The next International AC/DC Fan Meeting will take place on September 29nd and 30th, 2023 in the CD-Kaserne in Celle.

With the CD-Kaserne team we have found a partner on our wavelength. After initial talks and an on-site visit by a delegation from the organization team from October 22nd to 23th, we were able to wrap everything up and look forward to the coming year full of optimism and zest for action.

Why was the appointment postponed?
As you have probably noticed, the originally planned date, which we had all been relying on, had to be postponed by a week due to a new situation with regard to overnight accommodation.

The reason:
Celle is around 40 kilometers away in the haze of Hanover and is therefore heavily frequented with overnight stays when major trade fairs are held there. The EMO, the world's largest trade fair for metalworking, will take place on the weekend originally planned, and it is already becoming apparent that there will hardly be any more rooms to book in Celle and the surrounding area.

Even if everything would have been perfect with the venue, bands, etc., it makes no sense to present the fans, some of whom travel long distances, with an event during which they have no chance of finding accommodation within reasonable reach and acceptable prices.
This annoys us in the organizational team itself, but it cannot be changed. We hope you understand.

Take a look at the new location on the website and Facebook page:
https://cd-kaserne.de/cd-kaserne-ggmbh/kurzinformation.html
https://www.facebook.com/CDKaserne

On our website in the hotel section you will find an some informations with suggestions for accommodation in and around Celle.
We will provide you with further news about the bands, the start of advance sales and everything else that is important over the next few months via the website, Facebook page and the eCircle - these (and no other) are the three channels where you can find official information directly from the organization team.

There's Gonna Be Some Rockin' in Celle 2023!

THE TRIP GOES ON - IN 2023

It's been quiet here for a while - so we on the part of the organization team would like to start you again with the current status of what the international AC/DC fan meeting looks like:

Let's get the sad part of the news over with first: There will definitely be no fan meeting organized by us in 2022, not even a "small replacement". We were looking for an interim solution at a different location for  the intended weekend - unfortunately this cannot be implemented.

But now to the good news: the journey will continue at a new location next year!

First of all, a thunderous thank you to the fan community and organizers - we couldn't have dreamed of so much support:

We received more than 40 (!) location suggestions - some suggested by the fans, some the operators contacted us themselves.

We didn't expect such great feedback from those who would like to support the idea of the fan meeting - balm for the organizing team after some incomprehensible complaining and insults from some corners after we had to pull the ripcord for Geiselwind.

The organizing team checked all the suggestions and sounded out the important necessary framework conditions for location, price structure, infrastructure, transport connections, etc. We were in contact with contacts from several locations that are suitable for an event in the usual form.

From the group that was shortlisted, we have now found a fine location for 2023 where we would like to host the fan meeting. We will announce where and when it will be once further issues have been clarified and everyone involved has agreed.

So much can already be revealed: We are in contact with a highly motivated team that lets you feel the enthusiasm and spirit that also drives the organizing team to organize such an event "by fans for fans" on a voluntary basis and not with commercial aspects in the foreground. It will be in Germany, but no longer in Bavaria, and we are orienting ourselves on the date in such a way that we are moving from mid-October to the probably warmer season towards mid/end of September. We will announce more here when it is clarified.

Let there be rock - your orgateam

THANK YOU AC/DC-FAN-FAMILY!

Thank you - you guys are awesome!

After announcing what was probably the most difficult decision the organizing team had to make since organizing fan meetings, it was clear that this would trigger reactions.

In addition to numerous comments on our Facebook page, many loyal fans have posted unforgettable moments and photos from the 9 Geiselwind meetings over the past few years. We received encouragement, approval and a lot of honest positive feedback not only here, but also via e-mails, messengers and calls to members of the orgateam: signs of appreciation that felt damn good, especially in such a situation. We were surprised and delighted that we received so many suggestions for new locations from fans: Thank you very much!

This shows the community spirit of those who have been firmly rooted in the fan family for decades and accompany them on their journey through all the ups and downs. For us in the organization team, this is exactly an incentive to steer positively and full of energy into a future - even if it is still unclear - "by fans for fans". That is exactly what is extraordinarily precious, why we like to contribute our energy to the fan community. These reactions and messages did everyone in the team very well. We accept criticism and welcome suggestions. But moaning, nagging and insults are absolutely out of place.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CONTINUES TO SUPPORT OUR IDEA! WE SALUTE YOU!

International AC/DC fan meeting will not take place in Geiselwind in 2022

Hello Rockers & Rollers,
Dear AC/DC fan base,

Two years of rock 'n' roll deprivation are behind us. More than two years in which we have been longingly waiting for normality to finally return and for us to be able to enjoy the beloved sounds of Angus & Co in Geiselwind (and of course elsewhere) again at a reasonable volume with suitable drinks and with many like-minded people.

As soon as the Corona situation seems to be moving in the right direction, politics goes completely crazy and people kill themselves right on our doorstep - it is to cry for.
We from the organization team are stunned at all this madness and are racking our brains for the third time in a row as to how we should deal with this situation.

In the last three months we have had intensive discussions with each other, but above all with the operators of the truck stop in Geiselwind.
And then, contrary to expectations, another problem came up: In addition to the imponderables resulting from the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, the general conditions in Geiselwind have also changed significantly.

The costs to be borne by us have reached a magnitude that would impose shackles on a new edition of our fan meeting - it would be the tenth in Geiselwind - which we do not want to accept as it is. Because the consequences would be serious:
Poor, hardly enforceable fees for the bands or alternatively fewer bands, less supporting program, drastically higher entrance fees (order of magnitude "factor 2"or even "factor 3" ) and in the end still an extremely high cost risk for us.

Under these conditions, our motto "By fans for fans" becomes a farce because we can only plan and act according to commercial aspects. This has nothing to do with Rock'n'Roll and fun anymore - it just sucks!!!
For this reason, we have decided with a heavy heart not to hold a fan meeting in Geiselwind this year either.

BUT: We are looking for an alternative, because of course we are just as excited as you are to finally hold a huge AC/DC party again and to spend a weekend with the big fan family, as we all love it.
The search for an alternative location has begun, but is proving difficult. If you have a tip for a suitable venue, please contact us (Mail: Orga). We don't want to leave anything untried, but of course the bar is EXTREMELY high with Geiselwind.

We will inform you as soon as possible about the further procedure. However, it was important to us that you already know that hotel reservations in Geiselwind will not be needed this year.

See you soon - wherever that may end up!

Your orga team
